Youth Well Lab
We are a research team at the University of Sydney.

MISSION
Our mission is to use digital technology to support the health and well-being of adolescents (10–24 years). We aim to prevent chronic diseases — like heart disease — early in life and help build healthier communities for young people today and for future generations.

OUR WORK
We work closely with young people, involving them in every step of our research and decision-making. We also collaborate with experts from many different fields to co-design innovative, evidence-based solutions.

RESEARCH
Led by Associate Professor Stephanie Partridge, the Youth Well Lab is all about working with young people to create healthier futures — both now and for the next generation through innovative, evidence-based solutions.
Our research focuses on three key areas:

![💸 $5 meals at @sydney_uni? Chen and Cherie, Master’s students on placement with our team, went for lunch to check it out
What’s happening? With the rising cost of living, the University of Sydney Union is serving up $5 campus lunches , over 500 meals a day. But how do they stack up on taste, nutrition, portion size & value?
Chen and Cherie, reviewed the meals, spoke with peers, and even checked out what’s being shared on RedNote (Xiaohongshu).
Most say it’s a huge win for price & convenience 🙌

![Published now: “How Are Adolescents Participating in the Transformation of Healthy Food Environments? Led by Allyson Todd, with contributions from the Health Advisory Panel for Youth at the @sydney_uni (HAPYUS).
Our scoping review analysed 70 studies involving over 20,000 adolescents across 31 countries. It maps how adolescents are contributing to food policy research, the impacts of their participation, and the barriers and enablers they face.
Youth-led recommendations by Moudasir Jalili, Elena Wang and Natalie are included to guide future research and policy work, who were also involved from the start in designing the research question and methods.

![🚨 New article in @croakeynews: Uber Eats has launched ‘Eats for Teens’ in Australia, allowing 13–17-year-olds to order food through their parents’ accounts. While marketed as a convenience, we raise concerns about its potential impact on young people’s eating habits
📱 Studies indicate that online food delivery platforms often promote unhealthy options, with fast food being mostly featured. This digital environment may make it challenging for young people to make healthier food choices.
