We had an fantastic afternoon at the University of Sydney #AlumniFestival, sharing how our team’s research is creating healthier societies and improving the health of #adolescents. Nice to have friends and family come to support us as well.

We showcased our Medical Research Futures Fund Grant, The Health Hive, being led by Allyson Todd for her PhD and Sara Wardak, our Digifood Dashboard, which maps NSW’s food environment, led by Sisi Jia for her PhD (read first results published in The Lancet Regional Health - Western Pacific) and Health4Me, our MRFF Funded trial - led by Rebecca Raeside for her PhD with results out in 2025! (read recruitment results published in Journal of Medical Internet Research).

We also took a generational pulse check on the Government’s new law banning young people under 16 from social media and discussed what people see as the biggest issue facing young people today. The conversations were fascinating…

Very proud to see how far our team has come over the last 6 years. We are a core team of 5 researches (fellows, postdocs and PhD students), we employ 5 young people and we are

further supported by our 16 member Health Advisory Panel for Youth at The University of Sydney (HAPYUS, pronounced “Happy Us”). This year we supervised 13 masters students, who have contributed immensely to our research program.

We recognise and pay respect to the Elders and communities - past, present, and emerging - of the lands that we conduct our research. For thousands of years they have shared and exchanged knowledges across innumerable generations for the benefit of all.
